Job Description:

** Senior Staff Accountant ** $75-90K ** San Diego, CA **Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager and Assistant Vice President of Finance & Accounting, the Accountant will manage financial records, prepare reports, and support audits and tax filings. Responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and assisting in financial statement preparation. The role also involves tracking project and grant expenditures, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and supporting budget management. Discretionary bonus included!Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records, process transactions, and ensure accurate reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile bank accounts, and manage month-end and year-end closings.
• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing.
• Monitor and track project and grant expenditures to ensure budget alignment.
• Assist in audits, tax reporting, and compliance with financial regulations.
• Review and maintain financial aspects of contracts and agreements.
• Work with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to support financial operations.Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional accounting experience, preferably in property accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting, multi-entity, financial reporting, and cost/project accounting.
  • Payroll experience is preferred, must be willing to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
