role is $258,500 - $430,800 annually. We generally base our salary
decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work
and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some
cases, candidate work location.Work Location: San Diego, CAWork
Mode: HybridChief Financial Officer (CFO): The Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) provides strategic, operational, and programmatic
financial leadership for EDF Renewables (EDFR), acting as the
primary financial spokesperson and representing EDFR with its
parent company, EDF Renouvelables SA in France. Responsibilities
include direct action and effective leadership of the Corporate
Finance team.ResponsibilitiesSenior Leadership:
- Collaborate with the President/CEO on strategic vision,
stakeholder relationships, and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate corporate finance strategy with the Parent CFO.
- Provide financial reporting and guidance to business
leaders.
- Participate in strategic meetings, addressing financial
topics.
- Contribute to organizational mission and staff succession
planning.
- Analyze trends and forecast company growth.
- Develop and manage the operating budget and ensure regulatory
compliance.
- Oversee and approve consolidated financial reporting under
IFRS.
- Assist in new business development and funding
opportunities.
- Attend Board and Audit/Finance Committee meetings.
- Oversee 401(k) Retirement Plan financial reporting and serve as
a trustee.Team Management:
- Direct financial strategy, planning, and forecasting (budgets,
medium-term plans).
- Oversee Capital Market activities (financing, M&A).
- Manage fiscal reporting, including revenue/expense, balance
sheet, and grant reports.
- Lead the Corporate Finance team's daily operations.
- Provide continuous financial management upskilling.
- Drive optimization and efficiency in corporate finance and
administrative processes.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or
Business Administration; advanced degree preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Minimum 15 years' experience as a CFO or senior financial
leader in an organization with at least $500 million annual income
and $4 billion+ in consolidated assets.
- Experience as an Officer of a comparable-sized company.
- Proven track record of effective corporate finance and
accounting leadership in a high-growth environment.
- Experience with international accounting principles in a global
organization.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to mentor and lead a corporate finance team.
- Team player with initiative and drive.
- High level of integrity and honesty.
- Ability to liaise with parent company and EDF Group
affiliates.
- Fluent in French is a big plus!Working Conditions:Primarily
office-based (80%), with occasional travel to North American
offices, affiliates, and the parent headquarters (20%). Requires
proficiency with standard office equipment and Microsoft Office
Suite.
