Supplier Quality Engineer specialized in the ceramic, PWB, CCA, or
RF commodities to join our Supplier Performance Management Field
Engineering team. This team supports programs with suppliers across
the United States and Internationally. The location of this
position is the San Diego, CA area. This position works a 9/80
schedule and will travel an estimated 75% of the time. What You'll
Get to Do: - - - - - - - - - Collaborate in a team environment,
negotiate and integrate different viewpoints, prioritize and adjust
tasks to accomplish the project results. - - - - - - - - -
Represent the company with credibility, confidence and
professionalism. - - - - - - - - - Perform Specification Compliance
Reviews, First Article Inspections and Source inspections on
various categories of hardware. Ceramic, PWB, CCA, or RF
commodities are required. - - - - - - - - - Understands continuous
process improvement (CI) and can effectively develop and execute CI
initiatives and activities. - - - - - - - - - Initiate Corrective
Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing and engineering
personnel to identify root cause and ensure robust corrective
actions are implemented. - - - - - - - - - Analyze and interpret
data to identify suppliers' process issues and developing
solutions. - - - - - - - - - Perform process and product audits
along with capacity assessments to ensure the supplier's processes
are robust and capable, as well as compliant to Military and Space
requirements. - - - - - - - - - Effectively perform supplier
surveillance activities designed to manage and improve supplier
performance, productivity, and process validation. - - - - - - - -
- Apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts
to analyze and audit our suppliers' processes and capabilities. - -
- - - - - - - Capable of leading cross-functional teams in pursuit
of performance improvements aligned to department and
organizational goals. - - - - - - - - - Mitigate supplier quality
risk to prevent/minimize business impact from supplied material
defects. - - - - - - - - - Proactive reduction and prevention of
supplied material defect occurrences and verification of supplied
material defect claims. - - - - - - - - - Lead on-site supplier
engagements, including performance reviews and QMS (Quality
Management System) audits. - - - - - - - - - Be able to analyze and
present data to all levels of leadership. - - - - - - - - - Strong
communication skills (both oral and written). - - - - - - - - -
Understands general contracting principles in a Department of
Defense and commercial environment. - - - - - - - - - Establish
positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
Basic Qualifications for a Supplier Quality Engineer are: - - - - -
- - - - Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
(will consider additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of
degree; 2 years for AS degree). - - - - - - - - - A minimum of
years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Design Engineering
and/or 2+ years of experience in Continuous Improvement. - Relevant
hardware inspection and verification experience. - - - - - - - - -
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. US
Citizenship required. - - - - - - - - - Experience with ISO 9001 or
AS9100 requirements. - - - - - - - - - Experience in root cause
analysis and corrective action. ---Preferred Qualifications: - - -
- - - - - - Possess current DOD Secret Clearance. - - - - - - - - -
Experience working in the defense industry. - - - - - - - - -
Hardware inspection and verification experience. - - - - - - - - -
Process knowledge and manufacturing engineering in the
microelectronics industry. - - - - - - - - - Certification in
J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620. - - - - - - - - - Proficient
knowledge in MIL-STD-883 Testing Methods - - - - - - - - - Six
Sigma or Lean certifications. - - - - - - - - - Lead auditor
experience to ISO 9001 and AS9100, AS9102 requirements. - - - - - -
- - - Training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI
Y14.5M). - - - - - - - - - ASQ Lead Auditor, CQE, CQM

$81,300 - $121,900The above salary range represents a general
guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors
when determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
