Exciting opportunity to join the Qualcomm CPU Engineering Operations team and be part of a fast-growing business unit. Primary role will be to support VP budget management with all aspects of forecasting, tracking, and reporting on headcount and consulting. Work cross functionally with Engineering, Program Mgmt, Product Mgmt, Finance, and HR to help drive planning and execution of operating expenses which will involve extensive data maintenance, validation, and analysis. Drive improvements to new and established processes and reporting to increase efficiencies and facilitate decision making.Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Relevant Certification (PMP, Six Sigma, Finance).
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Engineering Operations, project or program management.
  • 2+ years of experience in data management and analysis in Excel or other programs.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gathers and integrates data from varied sources to conduct complex analyses. Identifies inaccuracies or inefficiencies in data collection and analysis. Follows up with internal and external teams for additional data with minimal instruction.
  • Synthesizes data and results of moderately complex analyses to prepare complex reports that can be easily understood by the end user. Reviews and incorporates reports prepared by others in support of medium to large sized projects, processes, and services.
  • Completes tasks related to large projects or ongoing operational work (e.g., space planning, headcount analysis, budget requests) of one or more focus areas and identifies future work needed, with support and guidance from managers. Determines scope of issues and escalates to appropriate lead or manager.
  • Assists with recommending improvements to new and established processes and methods (e.g., analysis and reporting tools, budget and financial tracking, scheduling, databases) to increase efficiencies across teams or groups. Helps train others on new processes and methods.
  • Communicates with multiple cross-functional teams within and outside Qualcomm to gather information and present report findings. Prepares some large-scale communications.
  • Collaborates with individuals inside and outside of own team to complete focus area project, process, and service related work, and identify gaps and dependencies. Networks with colleagues within and outside own team to gain insight, ideas, and connections.Level of Responsibility:
  • Working under some supervision.
  • Providing some supervision/guidance to others.
  • Making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may be detected and corrected with relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
  • Using verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question. May require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact, and diplomacy, etc.
  • Working within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department; erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and result in the re-allocation of some resources.
  • Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
  • Completing many tasks that do not have defined steps; simultaneous use of multiple mental abilities is generally required to determine the best approach; mistakes may result in significant rework.
  • Exercising substantial creativity to innovate new processes, procedures, or work products within guidelines or to achieve established objectives.
  • Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.The responsibilities of this role do not include: --- Role in strategic planning.
