This is a full time, benefited position generally working Monday-Friday from 7:45am-5pm. Hours will vary as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic Carmel Valley. • Manage daily staffing for assigned clinic operations in Surgical Specialties (Vein Clinic, Head/Neck Surgery, Pediatric Ophthalmology, & Optometry).
• Oversee surgery schedulers, patient services specialists, patient service representatives, MAs, LVNs, RNs, sonographers, orthoptists and ophthalmology technicians.
• Provide floor coverage as needed.
• Ensure nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety.
• Ensure the safe transition of patients through the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.
• Under the general direction of the Manager/Director, share leadership responsibilities for the clinical staff and support staff, including managing daily staffing plans.
• Be responsible for managing and maintaining schedules for optimal efficiency.
• Work in partnership with Management and Physicians to ensure quality and efficiency in the management of patient care.
• Manage and develop clinical & clerical staff.
• Contribute to operations management of assigned business unit(s).
• Participate in budget planning and management. Take proactive initiative in quality management.
