As an IT Software Developer within the Server Management Group, you will be working on systems supporting all aspects of Linux compute that keeps us at the forefront of development and engineering for the full list of technologies Qualcomm offers. Qualcomm is a worldwide leader in mobile, automotive, IOT, and compute technologies. You will be part of what makes our ecosystem cutting-edge and industry-defining.The Unix Platform Services team oversees continued development, automation, and support of all aspects of Linux system management spanning the entire lifecycle of compute. Primary responsibilities include supporting strategic initiatives, code development, testing, troubleshooting, and release orchestration with Airflow, Jenkins, and our innovative release pipelines.You should have an understanding of Large Installation Systems Administration, scaling, automation, good software development practices, and how to break-down/simplify complex problems and solutions. You will be working with a seasoned team of IT professionals, their partner organizations, and management to provide highly scalable, reliable, and efficient systems. Your day-to-day work will span interactions with systems and teams around the globe while developing solutions to enable reliable growth.As a developer you will suggest and drive development of new features, identify and repair performance problems, keep internal software components up to date, mindfully implement security improvements, fix bugs, and work with other teams to test and implement solutions. You must have strong scripting, documentation, and organizational skills: experience running development sprints in JIRA, using Confluence for documentation, is a plus.What are we looking for:

  • 3 years (experienced) Python & Shell
  • 3 years (experienced) in multiple Linux operating systems
  • 2 years (intermediate) configuration management (Chef, CFEngine, Ansible, Puppet, or equivalent)
  • 1 year (intermediate) Software release management
  • 1 year (intermediate) Jenkins and/or Airflow workflows
  • 1 year (intermediate) CI/CD and/or equivalent cloud-native CI/CD toolingPreferred Qualifications:
    • 3+ years (expert) Python
    • 3+ years (expert) Shell (sh, bash)
    • 3+ years (expert) in multiple Linux operating systems (Suse, Ubuntu, Red Hat)
    • 3+ years (experienced) configuration management (Chef, CFEngine, Ansible, Puppet)
    • 2+ years (experienced) networking fundamentals to advanced networking concepts
    • 2+ years (experienced) Jenkins or Airflow (1yr+)
    • 1+ year (intermediate) Software release management / Agile Scrum Master
    • 1+ year (intermediate) CI/CD
    • History of system administration / IT Engineering / DevOps
    • DevOps background or understanding DevOps concepts
    • Monitoring (Health, Performance, activity) and Troubleshooting skills
    • Have used Splunk and/or Observability platforms (DataDog, etc)What's on Offer:

        • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
        • OR 1+ year of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree in a non-technical field (e.g., Business, Humanities, Marketing), or related field.
        • OR 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a High school diploma or equivalent.Physical Requirements:
