Associate Attorney/Post-Bar Clerk - Workers Compensation

Our firm specializes in the representation of public safety officers and associations in labor negotiations, internal affairs investigations, disciplinary appeals, administrative litigation, officer-involved shootings, workers compensation, employment litigation and retirement.

The firm is seeking an associate with 0-3 years' experience for our worker's compensation department. The candidate will be able to manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity. Will be opening new files, creating litigation plans, conducting discovery, making court appearances, and trying cases while maintaining exceptional client interaction. Workers' Compensation experience is preferred. This individual will build client relationships and provide excellent customer experience for our clients.

Responsibilities

--- Gathering medical evidence and medical records

--- Taking depositions of the claimant, physicians, medical experts, and other parties

--- Conducting discovery

--- Performing legal research

--- Remaining current with developments in the law

--- Evaluating the merits of a workers compensation case

--- Providing guidance and counsel to the clients through effective communication,

medical review, and negotiating, settling, and litigating cases, if necessary

Qualifications

--- Attorney with CA Bar License (required)

--- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

--- Strong legal knowledge and proficient writing skills
