Qualcomm Systems Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards.Job OverviewSensors-based technology has a wide range of applications including navigation, gaming, smart user interface, multimedia, virtual reality and augmented reality. This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with leading edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, automotive, IoT, smartwatches as well as other consumer electronics devices. Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will work with systems, software, and integration/test engineers in the QCT sensors group.Job responsibilities include:

  • Building Sensors System and Data team in Qualcomm Shanghai.
  • Working with global systems, software, integration and test teams to support development and commercialization of sensor algorithms and features.
  • Scripting and tool development using Matlab, Python, C# and related data pre-processing libraries.
  • Organizing and managing data collection campaigns within Qualcomm employees in China.
  • Setting up and maintenance of cloud storage in China and development of cloud based workflows to process the data.
  • Creation, validation, maintenance and documentation of training, validation and test data sets for algorithm and feature development.
  • Calibration and validation of sensor data in embedded devices used for algorithm development and performance evaluation.
  • Sensor feature commercialization support in form factor devices including algorithm performance validation, customer data wrangling and direct customer triage support.
  • Creating detailed reports on algorithm evaluation results and summarizing key performance metrics and the recommended areas of improvement.
  • Benchmarking sensor related features across commercial products.The position is technology focused and involves participation in a broad range of sensors systems engineering activities within the Sensors Technologies group.The role contains occasional domestic travel, physical/sports activities and handling of objects with significant weight.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field5+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field5+ years of experience in the following areas:
    • Previous technical leadership experience and track record in building high performance team(s).
    • Strong programming skills with Python3+ (including Pandas, XlsxWriter) and Matlab. Previous experience with C#.
    • Previous experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform. Familiarity with AWS SageMaker, Microsoft Graph API and Sharepoint APIs preferred.
    • Fluency with Git / Git Hub.
    • Proficiency with Linux to build automation tools.
    • Understanding of basics of digital signal processing, linear algebra, probability and statistics.
    • Advanced Machine Learning concepts including supervised and unsupervised learning, feature extraction, classification, logistic regression, Bayesian inference and Neural Networks.
    • Familiarity with ML libraries and packages.
    • Knowledge of MEMS & inertial, environmental and physiological sensors and prior experience with associated characterization equipment.
    • Basic understanding of audio sensors, camera sensors and wireless radios (BT, WLAN, GNSS, cellular) in mobile devices extremely beneficial.
    • Previous experience with Linux Embedded, Linux Android, Wear OS, iOS and Windows mobile devices.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong written and verbal English skills.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented person with strong analytical skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced global team environment.Educational RequirementsBachelor's or master's in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.Minimum Qualifications:--- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
