Summary:Join our Linux Platform team - and drive the design and
implementation of our software distributions and build
infrastructure to support open-source, scalable solutions. This
central role focuses on enabling our development teams to provide
scalable open-source solutions for our products. Be part of a
dynamic team leading upstreaming efforts across Qualcomm chipset
solutions, with a focus on the community and collaboration with
internal and external developers.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer
Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or
related work experience.
- OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems,
Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software
Engineering or related work experience.
- OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science,
or related field.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming
Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.Preferred
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer
Science or related field.
- Strong background in Computer Science and software
fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of C, C++, Bash, Python.
- Experience using it/gerrit.
- Experience with Linux distributions - Debian, Ubuntu, RedHat,
Yocto, etc.
- Familiarity with Linux packaging and CI/CD tools.
- Proven ability and interest in debugging complex compute or
embedded software systems.
- Strong ability to solve problems in a non-linear fashion.
- Working knowledge of Linux kernel and configuration (device
tree, kconfig, etc.).
- Quick learner; able to grasp concepts with only basic training
and the initiative to ask questions - and investigate new areas and
concepts as needed.
- Prior experience with Qualcomm software platforms is a
plus.
- Mature interpersonal skills with an ability to collaboratively
work within the team and with many varied teams to resolve problems
spanning many disciplines.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic, multi-tasked
environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are
required.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within the team and across teams to design,
develop, and release our software, tooling, and practices to meet
community standards internal and external requirements.
- Bring up platform solutions across the Qualcomm chipset
portfolio.
- Triaging software build, tooling, packaging, functional or
stability failures.
- Guiding and supporting development teams inside and outside the
Linux organization, focus on Linux userspace software
functionality, integration, and maintenance.
- Working with development and product teams as necessary for
issue resolution.Level of Responsibility:
- Works under supervision.
- Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work
group.
- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey
information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact,
etc.
- Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and
prioritization must occur to complete the tasks

Compensation & Benefits:$111,300.00 - $166,900.00The above pay
scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this
job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more
importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total
