This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with leading-edge AI & signal processing sensor solutions embedded in smartphones, automotive, IoT, smartwatches as well as other consumer electronics devices. Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will work with systems, software, and integration/test engineers in the QCT sensors group.Job responsibilities include:

  • Developing sensor algorithms in high-level languages (MATLAB, Python) including algorithm performance validation.
  • Making effective engineering tradeoffs between performance, memory, power consumption, and computational complexity.
  • Working with global systems and software teams.
  • Embedded software development in C/C++ for fixed & floating-point based designs.
  • Creating reports on algorithm evaluation results and delivering complete design and user documentation.The position is technology-focused and involves participation in a broad range of sensors systems engineering activities within the Sensors Technologies group.All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company.Minimum Requirements:4+ years Software & Systems Engineering or related work experience.4+ years' experience with programming languages such as C, C++, MATLAB, Python, Java, etc.Basic understanding of digital signal processing, linear algebra, probability and statistics, machine learning concepts including supervised and unsupervised learning, feature extraction, classification, regression, Bayesian inference, neural networks, and natural language processing.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.Preferred Qualifications:4+ years of experience in the following areas:
    • Knowledge of fixed-point concepts and application of it in algorithm designs.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
    • Knowledge of MEMs & inertial sensors.
    • Strong publications in the field of signal processing/AI.
    • Excellent written and verbal skills are required.
    • Embedded real-time operating systems including debugging skills.Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:$142,200.00 - $213,200.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
