innovative, self-motivated, exceptional scientist to join our Drug
Metabolism and Pharmacokinetic (DMPK) department at our San Diego,
CA site. The role works with multiple disciplines in drug discovery
to achieve in vivo proof-of-concept for target validation,
influence drug designs in lead optimization, and ultimately
identify drug candidates for advancement into the clinic. The
selected candidate will have opportunities to work on multiple
modalities, including small molecules, biologics, and antibody-drug
conjugates, and develop deep scientific expertise in drug
hunting.Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and scientific leadership as a DMPK
representative in discovery teams to influence chemical
tractability through application of predictive ADME models.
- Independently design and conduct DMPK and
pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) studies; interpret and
present the data to project teams.
- Proactively address project issues and apply model-based
approaches to integrate pharmacology and toxicology data for
decision-making.
- Effectively represent DMPK function and articulate DMPK-related
issues and resolutions at project review and portfolio governance
meetings.
- Actively engage and collaborate with cross-functional
colleagues within or outside the project teams.
- Knowledge and some experience with generative models applied to
multi-parameter optimization (MPO) of small molecules is desired
but not required.Qualifications & Experience
- Ph.D. in pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, pharmacology, or
related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience or MS
with 5+ years of industrial experience, or BS with 7+ years of
industrial experience.
- Broad understanding of ADME and PK/PD principles and experience
in supporting drug discovery as a DMPK representative.
- An agile learner with scientific curiosity and strong
problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral/written
communication skills.
- A strong team player with ability to collaborate and build
trustworthy relationships with other disciplines for idea
generation, issue resolution and program advancement.If you come
